Dialogues on sustainable cocoa
In collaboration with the Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems (SAFE) programme, implemented by the German-GIZ Cooperation, and with the technical support of the European Forest Institute (EFI), a series of "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa" was organised. This series consisted of three thematic virtual workshops to address the details of different requirements of the European Union Regulation on supply chains free of deforestation and forest degradation (EUDR): deforestation-free, traceability and legality. Representatives of the European Commission and producer countries from Latin America and Africa have participated in the workshops. On 1, 2 and 3 October, the closing event will take place in Quito and Tena, Ecuador.

Dialogue on due diligence in the cocoa value chain
16 May 2024. The first workshop was organised as part of the "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa" series, with the participation of representatives from the European Commission, as well as from producer countries in Latin America - Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru - and Africa - Ivory Coast.
13 June 2024. The 2nd workshop was organised "Traceability requirements for cocoa under the EUDR".as part of the series "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa". Representatives of the European Commission and producer countries from Latin America - Brazil, Ecuador and Peru - and Africa - Cameroon - participated.
26 June 2024. The workshop "Due diligence for legal cocoa in the framework of the EUDR" was organised, which closed the series of webinars "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa". Representatives from the European Commission and producing countries in Latin America - Brazil, Ecuador and Peru - and Africa - Ghana - took part.
Ecuador hosts the closing of the "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa" cycle
7 October 2024. On 1, 2 and 3 October, Ecuador hosted the closing event of the cycle "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa", organised by AL-INVEST Verde, in collaboration with the German Cooperation - GIZ Ecuador and the Delegation of the European Union in Ecuador.
