More than 3,600 MSMEs in Latin America move towards sustainable production with support from AL-INVEST Verde

The AL-INVEST Verde programme, a European Union initiative to promote sustainable growth in Latin America, is generating concrete impacts on the transformation of micro, small and medium-sized enterprises (MSMEs) towards more sustainable and efficient production models.

Through its projects in the region, more than 3,600 MSMEs have achieved water savings, especially in key sectors such as agriculture, agribusiness, manufacturing and hospitality. These actions include the optimisation of water use, the implementation of rainwater harvesting systems, and the reduction of wastewater, contributing significantly to the conservation of this vital resource.

In addition, more than 1,500 MSMEs have reduced their overall resource consumption by more than 20 %, thanks to sustainable practices focused on the reuse of materials, energy efficiency and improved production processes.

These figures reflect the positive impact of AL-INVEST Verde in the region, promoting a real transition towards a greener, circular and inclusive economy, with both environmental and economic benefits for participating companies.

The programme reaffirms its commitment to sustainability, capacity building and support to MSMEs on their path towards a more environmentally responsible productive development.
