Green economy projects in Peru are being promoted with an investment of nearly 1.5 million euros 
The programme - through the implementation of its Component 1 - selected 25 projects out of 136 proposals received during the first call for proposals from all over Latin America. In Peru, four projects focused on the transition towards low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular business models will benefit 840 MSMEs.

2 million will be used to promote green economy and environmental sustainability projects in Colombia.

The European Union announced the five winning projects for Colombia under Component 1 of the AL-INVEST Verde programme, with an investment of close to €1.9 million, which will benefit more than 2,500 entrepreneurs and MSMEs from all sectors in Colombia. The programme seeks to support the energy transition, job creation, increased turnover, the adoption of sustainable production practices and the development of rural women entrepreneurs.

Argentina's Santa Fe province starts collaboration with AL-INVEST Verde for the sustainability of the meat sector

The government of Santa Fe (Argentina) and the Component 2 have initiated a joint action to strengthen public policies on sustainability in the meat sector. Through this action, AL-INVEST Verde will provide support to the technical teams of the Ministry of Production, Science and Technology (MPCT) and the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MACC) of the Province of Santa Fe.

Cooperation with REDIEX in Paraguay to support the traceability of the leather production process and its certification. 

Component 2 and the Paraguayan Investment and Export Network (REDIEX) have initiated a joint action to promote the development of a national strategy to establish the traceability of the leather production process. To this end, individual identification, residence and health records of the animal will be carried out, which will be cross-checked with data from Paraguay's National Forestry Institute (INFONA) on land use change.

European Commission promotes matchmaking platform and high-level EU-LAC Pharmaceutical Forum

The European Commission has launched an online matchmaking platform to promote collaboration between Latin American and Caribbean (LAC) entities involved in pharmaceutical production and their counterparts in the European Union (EU). It will also organise a high-level forum on "Sharing pharmaceutical innovations between the European Union and Latin America and the Caribbean" on 21 March.

New training portal

The AL-INVEST Verde programme, as a part of the  Component 3 AL-INVEST Green IPR, led by the EU Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), has developed a new training portaln to disseminate seminars and other actions to enhance the value of intellectual property rights (IPR) management for employment and the circular economy.
