MORE THAN ONE MILLION EUROS TO SUPPORT GREEN ECONOMY PROJECTS IN CHILE
More than one million euros will be allocated to promote green economy projects in Chile, through Component 1. Specifically, three projects will be implemented to benefit Chilean MSMEs in the fruit sector, construction and the e-commerce industry.
TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE TO COLOMBIA TO PROMOTE MORE SUSTAINABLE EXPORTS
Component 2 presented in Bogotá, Colombia, the technical assistance it will provide to the Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism (MinCIT), through ProColombia, to promote the implementation of sustainable practices in the agro-industrial sector and meet the requirements of the European market in terms of sustainability, which will guarantee exports to the EU.
EXCHANGE OF EXPERIENCES ON SUSTAINABILITY IN THE COFFEE VALUE CHAIN
Component 2 organised the round table "Support programmes and instruments for sustainability in the coffee value chain", in which representatives from Brazil, Colombia, Peru and Ecuador, among others, the main coffee producing countries, took part.
FORESTRY SECTOR DIAGNOSIS PRESENTED TO PARAGUAY
Component 2 presented to the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC) of Paraguay the preliminary results of the diagnosis of the country's forestry sector. This analysis is part of the technical assistance provided to the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX) to support the transition towards sustainability in Paraguay's forestry chain.
Latin America and the Caribbean move towards a circular economy
Latin America and the Caribbean have a high diversity and abundance of resources that, over the years, has been sustained by a linear model dependent on extraction, which was the beginning of the production chain. In a global context where the demand for materials is increasing and with it the environmental impacts, it is important that our region moves towards a circular model where resources are not depleted, but rather used and regenerated.
