AL-INVEST Verde promotes international dialogue on sustainable production in Medellín
More than 200 representatives of governments, the private sector, international organisations and producers from Latin America and the European Union met in Medellín (Colombia) from 6 to 10 October, convened by the AL-INVEST Verde programme, which organised its annual #CONEXIÓNVerde+ event. During the event, the main results of the programme, which has allocated 37.7 million euros to its implementation in the region through cooperation with the public sector, the private sector and various intellectual property institutions, were presented. Ingenias LATAM 2025 Award in Santiago de Chile: women driving innovation in Latin America
The winners of the first edition of the Ingenias LATAM Award, an initiative of Component 3 for Intellectual Property Rights, co-organised with INAPI Chile as host and INPI Brazil, DINAPI Paraguay and DNPI Uruguay, were announced on 4 September. The award distinguished four women inventors recognised for the innovative character and the social or sustainable impact of their inventions: Dr. Alessandra Alves De Souza from Brazil, designer Silvana Herrera Leiva from Chile, Dr. Gladys Antonieta Rojas de Arias from Paraguay and graphic design technician María Inés Costa Saravia from Uruguay. Closing event of Component 3 for IP Rights in São Paulo

The contribution of IP-intensive industries in Argentina
The study prepared by Component 3 identified 262 IP rights-intensive industries in Argentina between 2019 and 2024, directly employing 38.3 % of the country's formal workers, close to 3 million people. Read full report.
