ARABICA project boosts women's participation in the sustainable coffee chain in Brazil

Within the framework of the AL-INVEST Verde programme, the ARABICA project continues to promote the adoption of sustainable practices in the coffee value chain in Brazil, strengthening the capacities of producers and MSMEs to respond to the new environmental requirements of the international market.

An important component of the project has been the active participation of women in training and capacity building processes. More than 200 women have been mobilised through project activities, contributing to their integration in initiatives aimed at improving the sustainability and competitiveness of the coffee sector.

In particular, more than 176 women have participated directly in capacity building workshops, where they have acquired knowledge on sustainable agricultural practices, traceability and adaptation to international standards. These actions seek not only to strengthen the sector's productivity, but also to promote greater inclusion of women in the sustainable transformation of the coffee value chain.

Through these initiatives, the ARABICA project contributes to promoting a more sustainable and inclusive production model that is prepared for the challenges of international trade.
