More than ¤20 million to boost green economy projects in Latin America

The AL-INVEST Verde programme, through the implementation of its Component 1, selected 42 projects out of more than 160 proposals received during the Second Call for Proposals for innovative projects. The selected projects will benefit SMEs in countries such as Argentina, Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Honduras, Mexico, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay and Venezuela.. Read more.

First intellectual property mentoring programme

The official launch of the first phase of AL-INVmentor in Paraguay and Brazil marked the start of a ground-breaking AL-INVEST Verde Component 3 IPR mentoring programme. This first phase of the first edition of the programme consists of six mentorships in MERCOSUR countries. Read more. 

Fedexpor and Propalma launch a sustainable palm oil project 

Within the framework of the private sector support component, Component 1, Fedexpor in collaboration with Propalma and the Spanish Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Quito, announced the launch of the project "Ecuadorian palm oil towards a sustainable and deforestation-free production model".. The announcement was attended by Charles-Michel Geurts, EU Ambassador to Ecuador. Read more.

Representatives of the European Commission and producer countries in Africa (Côte d'Ivoire) and Latin America (Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru). participated in the workshop "Due diligence for deforestation-free cocoa in the framework of the EUDR", organised in collaboration with the SAFE programme - implemented by the German cooperation agency GIZ - and with the technical support of the European Forest Institute (EFI).
