La Uni\u00f3n, 29 January 2025 - With the firm intention of boosting agricultural development and promoting sustainable practices, fruit and vegetable producers from the department of La Uni\u00f3n, beneficiaries of the project \"Innovations and Development for a Green Economy\", participated in an enriching exchange of experiences with the cooperative \"La Canasta Campesina\", located in the district of Comasagua, municipality of La Libertad Sur.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The main objective of this activity, which took place on 29 January, was for the producers of La Uni\u00f3n to learn first-hand about the production and marketing processes implemented by the host cooperative, which has achieved positive economic results thanks to its innovative business model. This model is based on the commercialisation of a community basket that includes a variety of fruits and vegetables, distributed both in government institutions and in local shops in Comasagua and surrounding districts. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
During the day, attendees had the opportunity to delve deeper into key issues for sustainable agricultural development, such as the use of organic manures and fertilisers, pest control, crop diversification and the identification of effective marketing channels. This knowledge exchange not only enriched the farmers' skills, but also provided them with practical tools to implement in their own organisations, in order to increase their crop yields and, consequently, improve their incomes. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
Participants stressed the importance of such initiatives, which foster collaboration between communities and promote knowledge transfer. Both visitors and hosts expressed their satisfaction with the constructive dialogue generated during the activity and expressed their interest in continuing to work together in the future. This collaboration would focus on promoting sustainable agriculture, optimising production and commercial processes, and ensuring care for natural resources and the environment. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The \"Innovations and Development for a Green Economy\" project continues to demonstrate its commitment to strengthening the capacities of local producers, promoting responsible agricultural practices and contributing to the economic development of communities.
