{"id":17861,"date":"2025-06-06T14:19:08","date_gmt":"2025-06-06T12:19:08","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/alinvest-verde.eu\/?p=17861"},"modified":"2025-06-06T14:20:59","modified_gmt":"2025-06-06T12:20:59","slug":"al-invest-verde-participa-en-guatemala-en-un-taller-sobre-eudr-organizado-por-fao-y-banco-mundial","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/alinvest-verde.eu\/en_gb\/al-invest-verde-participa-en-guatemala-en-un-taller-sobre-eudr-organizado-por-fao-y-banco-mundial\/","title":{"rendered":"AL-INVEST Verde participates in a workshop on EUDR organised by FAO and the World Bank in Guatemala."},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AL-INVEST Verde was present at the workshop <strong>\"Deforestation and forest degradation free coffee: access to markets and investments under new sustainability regulations\".<\/strong>organised by the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and the World Bank on 16-17 May in Guatemala City, Guatemala.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The workshop, held at the headquarters of the Asociaci\u00f3n Nacional Del Caf\u00e9 (Anacaf\u00e9), brought together representatives from the public and private sectors of <strong>Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala and Honduras<\/strong>as well as national and international coffee federations, initiatives, international financial institutions, European and UN organisations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On behalf of AL-INVEST Verde \/ <a href=\"https:\/\/alinvest-verde.eu\/en_gb\/acerca-del-componente-2\/\">Component 2<\/a>implemented by FIAP and IILA, Andrea Damiani, programme manager, presented the Brazilian socio-environmental traceability platform Selo Verde, a free public tool developed by the Federal University of Minas Gerais through the Territorial Intelligence Centre (CIT).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">This platform aims to promote the socio-environmental sustainability of agricultural value chains. To this end, it provides key information for traceability and transparency, in response to the requirements of the EUDR Regulation. AL-INVEST Verde has supported the implementation of <a href=\"https:\/\/alinvest-verde.eu\/en_gb\/brasil-selo-verde-minas-gerais\/\">Selo Verde in Minas Gerais<\/a> and is currently supporting its development in the states of <a href=\"https:\/\/alinvest-verde.eu\/en_gb\/brasil-selo-verde-espirito-santo\/\">Esp\u00edrito Santo<\/a>Acre and Tocantins.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In addition, during the event, the following were presented <strong>national sector strategies<\/strong> from Guatemala, Honduras, Costa Rica and El Salvador, among other issues. The objective was to identify a <strong>roadmap<\/strong> The EUDR Regulation is a general framework in the Central American region to prepare the coffee sector for compliance with the EUDR Regulation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>About AL-INVEST Verde<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">AL-INVEST Verde is a European Union (EU) programme whose main objective is to promote sustainable growth and job creation in Latin America by supporting the transition towards a low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular economy.
