Producers, companies and other stakeholders in Chile\u2019s cattle and forestry value chains will take part in a series of regional training workshops aimed at strengthening their capacity to meet the requirements of the European Union Regulation on Deforestation-Free Products (EUDR).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The initiative forms part of the technical assistance that AL-INVEST Verde, through Eurochile, provides to the Office for Agricultural Studies and Policies (Odepa) to strengthen institutional and sectoral capacities. This initiative aims to facilitate the alignment of the cattle and forestry value chains with the requirements set out in European regulations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The aim of the workshops is to raise awareness and provide training to producers, companies, trade organisations, associations and other stakeholders<\/strong> those involved in the cattle and forestry sectors, regarding the challenges and opportunities presented by the implementation of the EUDR, particularly in relation to sustainability, traceability and access to international markets.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The sessions will be free of charge and will take place in person. Each session will combine technical presentations, practical exercises and opportunities for discussion and consultation with national and international specialists, enabling participants to gain an in-depth understanding of the requirements of the regulations and to make progress in their preparations for compliance.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The workshops will take place from 23 June to 2 July in Osorno, Valdivia, Temuco, Concepci\u00f3n, Talca, Rancagua and Santiago. Through these activities, Chile aims to promote more sustainable and traceable production, helping to consolidate the country\u2019s position as a reliable, low-risk partner for international markets. <\/p>\n\n\n\n Preparing the beef and forestry sectors for the new regulatory requirements is a key step towards maintaining and enhancing the competitiveness of Chilean exports in the European market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n About AL-INVEST Verde<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n AL-INVEST Verde is a European Union (EU) programme whose main objective is to promote sustainable growth and job creation in Latin America by supporting the transition to a low-carbon, resource-efficient and more circular economy.
