S\u00e3o Paulo, 13 November 2023.<\/strong><\/p>\n

Component 3 (AL-INVEST Verde DPI), in partnership with the Brazilian SME Support Service (SEBRAE<\/a>), has lent its support to the Deep Tech Summit 2023 organised by\u00a0CATALISA ICT<\/a>. The event focused on\u00a0accelerate the integration of intellectual property (IP) as a driver of research and development in the field of deep techs,\u00a0<\/strong>underlining the importance of synergies between academia and business.<\/p>\n

Brazil's leading festival of deep tech innovation took place on\u00a08-9 November in S\u00e3o Paulo, Brazil<\/strong>. CATALISA ICT is a SEBRAE initiative to accelerate and promote innovative technology-based businesses to boost the generation of wealth and well-being. It acts through the creation of technology-based companies by master's and doctoral students, the transfer of technology from universities to companies, and the insertion of qualified human capital in SMEs.<\/p>\n

With\u00a0more than 90 speakers and an outstanding startup showcase<\/strong>the Deep Tech Summit 2023 has been a pivotal event for the\u00a0investors, entrepreneurs, industry leaders, scientists, researchers and universities, to promote connections, debates and market breakthroughs in disruptive technologies.\u00a0<\/strong>The Summit provided an ideal environment to promote the effective use of IP for a competitive and sustainable economy in Latin America, especially among startups.<\/p>\n

AL-INVEST Verde DPI's distinctive contribution to the Summit has been to\u00a0introduce the specific issue of IP protection and commercialisation to support innovation in deep techs.\u00a0<\/strong>The international experts invited by AL-INVEST Verde DPI, Josep M. Piqu\u00e9, Marcelo Grabois and Karina Haidar M\u00fcller, addressed the importance of the strategic use of IP to facilitate the valorisation of intangible assets, and the effective management of contracts and IP with universities. In addition, the AL-INVEST Verde IPR Action Leader, Mariano Riccheri, highlighted the relevance of the EU project collaboration in this important field in Brazil and Latin America.<\/p>\n
