
Three new GIs mentorships in Latin America
As part of the AL-INVmentor mentoring programme, three new mentorships were launched in Latin America: for artisanal products, in the Andean Community, and for coffee with a geographical indication (GI), in Brazil. The initiative seeks to promote the strategic use of Intellectual Property Rights (IPR) in the region, with special emphasis on GIs and trademarks. Support for the implementation of the Selo Verde traceability platform in Tocantins (Brazil).
AL-INVEST Verde is supporting the Government of Tocantins, Brazil, in the implementation of the Selo Verde traceability platform in this state. Through the Secretariat of Environment and Water Resources, in partnership with the Territorial Intelligence Centre (CIT) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Tocantins will be the first state to implement the Selo Verde traceability platform. sixth Brazilian state to implement this system and the fourth Amazonian state. Environmental traceability as a tool for Paraguayan meat and leather competitiveness
