Through the Secretariat of Environment and Water Resources, in collaboration with the Territorial Intelligence Centre (CIT) of the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), Tocantins will be the first state to implement the Selo Verde traceability platform. sixth Brazilian state -after Pará, Maranhão, Minas Gerais, Espírito Santo and Acre - to implement this system and the fourth Amazonian state.

In particular, the implementation of the Selo Verde platform is supported in order to soya, beef and forestry productsThe CAR 2.0, a geospatial intelligence tool that automatically analyses all rural properties registered in the Rural Environmental Cadastre (CAR) and verifies compliance with current environmental legislation.

According to Felipe Nunes, director of the Territorial Intelligence Centre (CIT) and researcher at the Federal University of Minas Gerais (UFMG), the implementation of the Selo Verde platform in the state of Tocantins seeks to consolidate these tools as public systemsThe project will enable rural producers to have free access to a detailed diagnosis of their properties.

"The state will have the ability to automatically demonstrate, through the integration of data and the application of artificial intelligence algorithms, the issuance of a certificate of non-existence of environmental infringements for the rural producer," added UFMG professor Raoni Rajão, stressing that when the systems are operational.

AL-INVEST Verde is currently supporting the implementation of the Selo Verde platform in the Brazilian states of Espírito SantoAcre and Tocantins. In addition, support for the implementation of the platform was completed last year in Minas Gerais.
