Geolocation and verification of the legality of wild cocoa in Amazonia

Through this action, support is provided to the Bolivian Forest and Land Control Authority in the creation of a space for public-private dialogue aimed at defining mechanisms for the geolocation of wild cocoa and the certification of the legality of the extraction process.

Implementation period: September 2025- September 2026.

Expected results

  1. Formation of a dialogue table multi-stakeholder and formulation of the project's roadmap. 

  2. Proposal for regulatory alignment and design of a pilot initiative to define the most effective methodology for geolocating scattered stands of wild cocoa in forests.

  3. Identify and prioritise legal mechanisms to determine the legality of the wild cocoa harvesting process.

  4. Facilitate verification of the geolocation and land use in accordance with EUDR requirements.

  5. Implementation of the pilot initiative to strengthen public policy for the management and sustainable harvesting of non-timber forest products and presentation of the results.

AL-INVEST Verde participates in Brazil in Team Europe meeting on deforestation-free chains


Brazil, 17 November 2025.
From 3 to 7 November, AL-INVEST Verde participated in the Altamira Summit in the Brazilian state of Pará. Organised by the Team Europe Initiative on deforestation-free value chains, of which AL-INVEST Verde is a member, the project it supports in Bolivia on wild cocoa was presented.
