Promotion and consolidation of the Register of Agricultural Producers (PPA) and of the digital identity of the agricultural producer

Through this action, support is provided to the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI) of Peru for the promotion and consolidation of the Register of Agricultural Producers (PPA) and the Digital Identity of the Agricultural Producer as tools for the adaptation of the coffee, cocoa and palm oil value chains to Regulation (EU) 2023/1115 of the European Parliament and of the Council on deforestation-free supply chains. The action focuses on the San Martin region of the Peruvian Amazon.

Implementation period: from November 2024.

Expected results

  1. Development and implementation of a training module and of a chatbot in the PPA's Digital Identity application.

  2. Awareness raising and outreach on the Register of Agricultural Producers and Digital Identity.

  3. Training of promoters and training of producers to transmit knowledge to producers on the effective use of the parcel geolocation tool integrated in the Digital Identity of the PPA.

  4. Georeferencing of production plots to generate a database as part of the EUDR adaptation process in the coffee, cocoa and palm oil value chains.

  5. Systematisation of processes and results and roadmap proposal for adaptation to the EUDR, based on state instruments that can facilitate compliance with the deforestation-free criterion.

San Martin (Peru) hosts Regional Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue to advance towards sustainable coffee, cocoa and palm value chains

 

Tarapoto, San Martin, Peru, June 3, 2025. With the participation of more than 100 people - including regional authorities and representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Development and Irrigation (MIDAGRI), international cooperation, technical roundtables, cooperatives and territorial organisations, together with producers - the San Martin Regional Multi-Stakeholder Dialogue for sustainable value chains for coffee, cocoa and palm was held in Tarapoto.
