ARGENTINA
Action in collaboration with the Secretariat for International Cooperation, Ministry of Production, Science and Technology (MPCT) and Ministry of Environment and Climate Change (MACC) of the province of Santa Fe (Argentina) to strengthen public policies on sustainability in the cattle value chain. Action in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, through the Secretariat of Industry and Productive Development, and the National Quality Plan, to support national laboratories in identifying their needs in relation to standards for exporting bovine leather, wood, soya and derivatives to the European Union. Action in collaboration with the National Bioeconomy Directorate of Argentina to strengthen the production of natural fertilisers and nutrients for agricultural use in the country. Further information.
In collaboration with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries of Argentina and the Secretariat of Bieconomy, the implementation and consolidation of the National Platform free of Deforestation VISEC is supported as a traceability and certification system for soy and beef (and by-products). BRAZIL
This action consisted of organising a series of dialogues, in collaboration with the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM). Different aspects of the meat and leather value chains in Brazil were analysed to identify good practices and promote environmental policies to help combat deforestation. Further information.
This action is developed in collaboration with the Federal Public Prosecutor's Office (MPF) of Brazil in the states of Acre, Amazonas, Mato Grosso, Pará, Rondônia and Tocantins. Its objective is to support the development of the unified management system of the Legal Meat Programme and to strengthen monitoring, reporting and verification procedures in the aforementioned states. In partnership with the State Forestry Institute of Minas Gerais (Brazil), support is provided for the development and implementation of the SeloVerde MG platform in this state to promote socio-environmental sustainability in the coffee, livestock and soy value chains. Further information.
COLOMBIA
Through this action, support is provided to the Colombian Ministry of Trade, Industry and Tourism (MinCIT) and ProColombia - the body in charge of promoting exports - to identify the challenges, opportunities and needs of the Colombian agro-industrial sectors in the face of the new sustainability requirements for exports to the European Union. ECUADOR
This action supports the strengthening of Ecuador's capacities to promote and consolidate productive cooperativism in the agricultural sector as a basis for the governance and operation of a national traceability system. Further information.
PARAGUAY
Action in collaboration with the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade (MIC) of Paraguay, for the definition of sustainable strategies in the Paraguayan leather sector. Further information.
This action supports the transition towards sustainability of the forestry chain in Paraguay with the aim of increasing the volume exported to the usual trading countries and expanding into new markets. Further information.
URUGUAY
Action in collaboration with the Directorate General of Forestry (DGF) of the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries (MGAP) of Uruguay. Its objective is to support public authorities in the certification of agro-exportable products produced under sustainable management of native forests. Further information.
This action is developed in collaboration with the Ministry of Livestock, Agriculture and Fisheries of Uruguay. REGIONAL
As part of this action, AL-INVEST Verde/Component 2 participated in the 44th International Artisan Ice Cream, Pastry, Bakery and Coffee Fair, SIGEP, and organised three round tables and a closing event in Colombia, as part of the cycle "Dialogue and exchange of experiences on sustainability in the coffee value chain"..
