EU-LAC Agri-Food Dialogues
AL-INVEST Verde is organising the "EU-LAC Agrifood Dialogues" series, in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA). This series consists of at least two thematic virtual workshops and two face-to-face workshops in 2025. The first two workshops address the issue of sustainable livestock production in the framework of the EU Regulation on supply chains free of deforestation and forest degradation (EUDR). In 2026, one to two more workshops are expected to be organised.
Implementation period: April 2025 - 2026.
Expected results
- Encourage the EU-LAC dialogue and mutual knowledge on EU legislation and best practices on sustainable agri-food value chains.
- Continue the policy dialogues on various elements of sustainable agriculture and the exchange of good practices between countries.
- Organisation of policy exchanges and workshops on sustainable agriculture to deepen cooperation with countries in Central America and MERCOSUR, among others.
- Exchange best practices on specific issues between Latin American and Caribbean partners through, for example, a platform provided by the EU and/or another organisation such as the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA).
