Implementation and consolidation of deforestation-free soybean and beef system

In collaboration with the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries and the Secretariat of Bieconomics, belonging to the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, support is provided for the implementation and consolidation of the VISEC Deforestation-Free Platform as a traceability and certification system for soya and beef (and by-products). To this end, financial support is provided for the development of the necessary software and awareness-raising, dissemination and training activities are promoted for potential users of this tool.

Implementation period: February 2024 - June 2026.

Expected results

  1. Implement the VISEC Soybean system to track the flow of this product throughout the country and that operators exporting soybeans to the EU receive information, documents and data to support the Due Diligence they are obliged to submit.

  2. Finalise and launch the VISEC Soybean Module software.

  3. Development of the VISEC Meat Module software to track the flow of this product and by-products throughout the country and provide operators with information, documents and data to support the Due Diligence process.

  4. Raise awareness actors in the soybean and beef value chains on the objectives and functioning of VISEC as an adaptation tool to the European Union's EU Deforestation and Degradation Free Supply Chains Regulation (EUDR).

  5. Spread the word information about VISEC and the process of adaptation to the EUDR.

  6. Develop the content and deliver a course of training in face-to-face and virtual format on the VISEC traceability and verification system.

AL-INVEST green introduces VISEC traceability system to verify trade in deforestation-free products


Rome, 07 June 2024.
AL-INVEST Verde, in collaboration with the Embassy of Argentina in Italy, organised on 6 June the presentation of the VISEC traceability system, a tool to promote the trade of Argentinean products free of deforestation, which is supported by AL-INVEST Verde and has been adopted at national level by the Government of Argentina.

The First Meeting on Legality and Traceability in response to the EUDR is organised in Argentina

The VISEC environmental and social sustainability platform, together with the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Buenos Aires (FAUBA) and the support of AL-INVEST Verde, organised the First Dialogue Meeting on Legality and Traceability in relation to the European Regulation on deforestation-free products on 16 December in Buenos Aires.EUDR).
