Dialogues on meat and leather 

In collaboration with the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), a cycle of technical dialogues on the meat and leather value chain was organised to identify good practices and promote environmental policies to help combat deforestation. In September 2022, the closing face-to-face conference was organised in Brasilia.

Dialogues on sustainable coffee 

Throughout 2023, three virtual dialogues and a closing face-to-face event were organised with representatives from the European Union and countries such as Brazil, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru, as well as other Latin American coffee producing countries and international organisations. 

Dialogues on sustainable cocoa 

In cooperation with the SAFE programme, implemented by the German-GIZ Cooperation, and with the technical support of the European Forest Institute (EFI), the cycle "Dialogues on sustainable cocoa" was organised, consisting of three virtual workshops and a closing event in Quito and Tena, Ecuador. 

Food safety: residues and contaminants

Action in collaboration with the Andean Community (CAN) for the analysis of food safety control or assurance systems in the Official Agricultural Health Services and reference laboratories of the Member Countries: Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru. 

Sustainable Timber Dialogues 

On the occasion of the Italian-Latin American SME Forum, AL-INVEST Verde organised workshops on the sustainability of the timber chain in Latin America in 2023 and 2024. 

EU-LAC Agri-Food Dialogues

In partnership with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), AL-INVEST Verde is organising the "EU-LAC Agrifood Dialogues" series. In 2025, two thematic virtual workshops and two face-to-face workshops will be organised. The first two address the issue of sustainable livestock farming in the framework of the European Union Regulation on supply chains free of deforestation and forest degradation (EUDR) and the second focus on water and agriculture.

Soy Dialogue 

Action in collaboration with the Sustainable Agriculture for Forest Ecosystems (SAFE) programme, implemented by the German-GIZ Cooperation, the Zero Deforestation project and the Argentine-German Dialogue on Sustainable Agricultural Innovations. The event was organised on 20-21 May 2025 under the title "MERCOSUR-EU Soy Dialogue: Strengthening a strategic value chain".
