AL-INVEST GREEN AT THE EU-LATIN AMERICA AND THE CARIBBEAN FORUM
AL-INVEST Verde participated in the EU-Latin America and the Caribbean Forum, which took place in Brussels on 13-14 July. More than 250 people: young people, civil society and local authorities attended this event, prior to the EU-CELAC summit on 17-18 July, which was attended by the highest representatives of the EU and the Latin American region.
WITHIN THE FRAMEWORK OF THE AL-INVEST VERDE PROGRAMME, A PROJECT IS LAUNCHED TO PROMOTE THE CIRCULAR ECONOMY IN TEXTILE MSMES IN PERU.
According to a study (2021) by the National Society of Industries, the textile and clothing sector in Peru is among the top 5 industries with the greatest economic activity and it is estimated that it generates around 400 thousand jobs. Likewise, the Ministry of Production highlights that, as of 2020, more than 11 thousand formal companies were registered in this sector.
REPRESENTATIVES OF MINAS GERAIS PRESENT THE SELO VERDE MG PLATFORM TO THE EUROPEAN COMMISSION, WHICH WILL ENABLE PROGRESS IN SOCIO-ENVIRONMENTAL TRACEABILITY.
Representatives of the European Commission, the State of Minas Gerais and the Federal University of Minas Gerais participated in a virtual meeting where the progress of the Selo Verde-MG IT platform was presented and the next steps in its development were analysed.
SUPPORT FOR ECUADOR'S AGRO-EXPORT SECTOR
With the aim of maintaining the support provided by the European Union (EU) to Ecuador's agro-export sector, AL-INVEST Verde met in the Andean country with representatives of the EU and the public and private sectors to learn about the actions carried out jointly, the progress made and future opportunities for collaboration.
INPI BRASIL AND EUIPO JOIN FORCES TO MODERNISE INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY PROCESSES
The Brazilian National Institute of Intellectual Property (INPI) and the EUIPO are implementing a strategic activity to strengthen the intellectual property system through the modernisation of quality systems and process improvements linked to the registration of industrial property titles, particularly trademarks.
TRADE AND SUSTAINABILITY EXCHANGE WITH THE PARAGUAYAN FORESTRY VALUE CHAIN
In the framework of the technical assistance that AL-INVEST Verde provides to the Investment and Export Network (REDIEX) of the Ministry of Industry and Trade of Paraguay to support the transition towards sustainability of the forestry value chain, three exchange sessions on trade and sustainability were held with different actors of the chain.
