AL-INVEST Verde at the EU-Latin America and the Caribbean Forum

Brussels, 17 July AL-INVEST Verde participated in the EU-Latin America and the Caribbean Forum, which took place in Brussels on 13-14 July. More than 250 young people, civil society and local authorities attended this event, prior to the EU-CELAC summit on 17-18 July, which was attended by the highest representatives of the EU and the Latin American region.

The overall objective of the EU-LAC Forum was to bring together non-state actors to "exchange views and experiences in an inclusive manner and discuss opportunities to forge a sustainable and inclusive future in both regions". To this end, Latin American and European youth organisations were invited and had the opportunity to share their concerns and interests and participate in the elaboration of a set of recommendations for the subsequent EU-CELAC Summit.

On behalf of AL-INVEST Verde, the heads of the three components of the programme participated and held working sessions with organisations to discuss future collaboration possibilities. Among others, they met with Redes Chaco, the network of networks for Sustainable Development in the Gran Chaco Americano, and with the Argentinean Chamber of the oil industry and cereal exporters' centre.

With its presence, AL-INVEST Verde highlighted its strong commitment to sustainable growth in the Latin American region, within the framework of the Global Gateway initiative, which seeks to address major challenges such as combating climate change, improving health systems and boosting competitiveness.
