COMPONENT 2
Technical assistance to the public sector
Component 2 promotes the development of public policies for compliance with environmental and labour standards that favour the sustainability of production chains. It provides technical assistance in Latin American countries - MERCOSUR, the Andean Community and Chile - to promote sustainable trade and economic policy, within the framework of the European Union's European Union Regulation on Deforestation and Forest Degradation Free Products (EUDR).

Projects
Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde is working in the countries of the MERCOSUR (Argentina, Brazil, Paraguay and Uruguay), in the Andean Community (Bolivia, Colombia, Ecuador and Peru) and in Chile. Click on each country to find out about all the actions or click on here.
Value chains
Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde is part of the initiative Europe Team on Deforestation Free Value Chains and supports countries in the implementation of the European regulation on deforestation and forest degradation-free products (EUDR), which sets out requirements for due diligence operators marketing or exporting from the European Union (EU) the following raw materials: oil palm, cattle, timber, timber, coffee, cocoa, rubber, and soybeans. Established by the Government of Spain in 1997, FIIAPP is a state public-sector foundation, part of the system public sector organisations of the Spanish and European Cooperation. It specialises in promotion and management of the participation of institutions, Public administrations and their agencies in programmes and international cooperation projects for the improvement of operation of public systems.
Established in 1966 as the Italian-Latin American Institute by the Minister of Foreign Affairs Amintore Fanfani, the IILAThe Rome-based Foundation was conceived as a tool to promote and strengthen relations between Italy (Europe) and Latin America. It plays its role in the cultural, socio-economic, technical-scientific and cooperation fields.
