The Programme, through the implementation of its private sector support component, Component 1, has been making progress in promoting the sustainable growth of Latin American SMEs.

Thanks to the support of our European partners, the AL-INVEST Verde programme, through its Component 1, is opening new doors towards a greener and more prosperous future for SMEs in Latin America.

The private sector support component, Component 1, has been working on the implementation of sustainable practices through the execution of 66 projects in Latin America, achieving a tangible transformation in the agricultural and industrial sectors. Through these initiatives, gender equity is also being promoted, with the active participation of women being a particularly relevant aspect.

Women from cocoa-producing countries such as Brazil, Colombia and Ecuador explain how women are driving progress towards sustainable production, while empowering themselves, involving more women and leading transformation processes.

Irene Haddad, Team Leader of Component 1 was on CNN Chile during the Ladera Sur Festival, organised by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, to share about the impact of the AL-INVEST Verde programme in the region.

AL-INVEST Verde and the Delegation of the European Union in Colombia organised at COP16 in Cali (Colombia) the event "Multilateral initiatives to promote the sustainability of livestock farming in areas of high biodiversity in Latin America".
