Circular economy as an engine for regional development

The circular economy as a driver of regional development aims to strengthen the sustainability and competitiveness of small and medium-sized industrial enterprises by incorporating environmental, social and governance (ESG) criteria and adopting circular economy practices. The initiative responds to the need to support SMEs in their transition towards more sustainable production models, enabling them to optimise their use of resources, reduce their environmental impact and improve their position in markets that are increasingly demanding in terms of sustainability.

To this end, the project carries out multi-sectoral assessments based on ESG standards, which enable the identification of opportunities for improvement and the design of measures tailored to the needs of each company. It also offers training, technical assistance and awareness-raising activities on the circular economy and sustainable production, whilst fostering the exchange of experiences and collaboration between companies and other stakeholders in the industrial ecosystem. In this way, it helps to strengthen the capacities of SMEs to move towards a more competitive, resilient industry that is committed to sustainable regional development.
