Organic agriculture: strengthening sustainable markets in the EU and LAC

Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde, in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), is organising the IV EU-LAC Agri-Food Dialogue, under the title “.“Organic Agriculture: strengthening sustainable markets in the EU and LAC“.

This event will take place in a hybrid format, face-to-face in Quito (Ecuador) and online, from 15:00 to 23:30 (CET time).

It is fully aligned with the main policy orientations of the European Union, such as the European Green Pactthe Farm to Fork Strategy“the Action Plan for the Development of Organic Production in the EU (2021), which sets a target of achieving at least 25 % of European agricultural area under organic production by 2030, and the Regulation (EU) 2018/848, which regulates organic production and labelling of organic products in the EU.

It is also articulated with the EU Biodiversity Strategy 2030, which recognises the adoption of agroecological production practices as a key instrument for the conservation and restoration of biodiversity and nature.
