Water and agriculture in transition: towards sustainable and resilient management in the EU and LAC

Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde, in collaboration with the Inter-American Institute for Cooperation on Agriculture (IICA), is organising the IV EU-LAC Agri-Food Dialogue, entitled “Water and agriculture in transition: towards sustainable and resilient management in the EU and LAC”.”.

This event will take place in a hybrid format, on-site in Brasilia and online, from 12:30 to 21:00 (CET time). It is based on the Water Resilience Strategy recently launched by the EU, which recognises water as a strategic common good in the face of climate change, biodiversity loss and growing tensions in the use of the resource. In the agricultural sphere, the strategy underlines the urgency of moving towards production models that are more resilient to water stress, promoting practices such as efficient irrigation, sustainable watershed management, soil protection and crop adaptation.
