Closing event AL-INVEST Verde IPR: Pathway and Future: Innovation, Sustainability and Intellectual Property | Day 2 Enforcement and Judges Network

The European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the implementing entity of Component 3 for Intellectual Property Rights, in partnership with the Escola Paulista da Magistratura, is organising the final event of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project, funded by the European Union.

Objectives

• Strengthen the institutional and practical capacities of IPR operators in Latin America.
• Promote dialogue between judges, public authorities and the private sector on current challenges in intellectual property protection, including the impact of emerging technologies such as artificial intelligence.
• Present the results of the Judges' Network of the AL-INVEST Verde IPR project, in particular the Compendium of Intellectual Property Jurisprudence.
• Strengthen regional legal cooperation links beyond the formal conclusion of the project.

The morning part of the event, aimed at judges and law enforcement authorities in Latin America, includes panels to discuss regional cooperation in the enforcement of intellectual property rights, as well as new challenges such as the use of artificial intelligence in the judicial context and its impact on intellectual property systems. The afternoon part is dedicated exclusively to judges, with a special focus on the presentation of the digest of case law.

Target audiences include prosecutors, public defenders, lawyers, students and other interested parties.
