Webinar on women in the creative industries and intellectual property
A collaboration between the Ministry of Education and Culture of Uruguay through the Creative Industries Department (Dicrea) of the Creative Economy Area of the National Directorate of Culture, and the Ministry of Industry, Energy and Mining of Uruguay through the National Directorate of Industrial Property (DNPI), lays the groundwork for a vital webinar to highlight women in the creative industries and their relationship to intellectual property (IP).
Intellectual property rights are crucial to the success of women in the creative industries. However, a gender gap in participation and benefits from the intellectual property system persists. Esteemed panelists from Latin America and the European Union will discuss gender-related challenges and opportunities in creative industries such as audiovisual, film, music and literature, sharing insights to effectively navigate the complex IP landscape.
The panelists for the webinar are:
- Hilda Lizarazu, Singer and songwriter, Argentina
- Simone OliveiraDirector of Globo Filmes, Brazil
- Mercedes Rosende, Writer, Uruguay
- Claudia Lorena Franco QuevedoNational Director of Intellectual Property, Paraguay
- Moderator: Carolina Arias BurgosEconomist and research expert, Spain.
