Digital tools for the non-deforestation of the Amazon in Peru
The project supports small-scale coffee, cocoa and oil palm producers in the Peruvian Amazon in adopting sustainable agricultural practices and digital traceability tools to meet the growing demands of international markets regarding sustainability and deforestation-free supply chains. The project aims to strengthen producers’ competitiveness by helping them meet the environmental requirements necessary to gain access to and remain in markets such as that of the European Union.
Through technical assistance, training and the implementation of digital monitoring and traceability systems, the initiative promotes more efficient and responsible production, whilst fostering forest conservation and the sustainable use of land. It also strengthens producers’ capacity to integrate into sustainable value chains, contributing to the economic development of the Peruvian Amazon and the protection of its ecosystems.
