The project GREEN IMPACKTfunded by the European Commission through AL-INVEST Verde, aims to support the transition of Colombian small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in the plastics, packaging and packaging sector towards a circular economy through training and collaboration with EU solution providers.
The consortium is made up of CLEAN - the Danish Water and Environment Cluster, ANDI - the National Association of Colombian Entrepreneurs and the Packaging Cluster - project coordinators.
In the first phase of the project, the recruitment of Colombian SMEs has been carried out.The project has also involved other key actors in the sector, such as organisations of plastics collectors and processors. The aim of this initial phase has been to identify the specific challenges and needs faced by these entities when migrating to circular models.
Based on the analysis of these challenges and needs, the technical and knowledge gaps associated with the change towards sustainable practices have been identified and will be addressed with specific actions such as training and technical advice.
The training programme is designed to provide a holistic view of sustainability, ensuring that companies can implement best practices in their value chain. It aims to train companies in key areas such as: new materials, efficient manufacturing processes, recycling and waste management, governance and financing tools.
In addition, GREEN IMPACKT will foster direct exchange between European companies and beneficiary organisations in Colombia. These collaborations will allow the joint development of innovative solutions that respond to the real challenges of the sector, taking advantage of the knowledge and experience of both parties.
