Description:
The objective of the Eco-accelerator project is to foster and develop business models that focus on reduce and circulate waste generated from e-commerce packaging, based on innovative and sustainable solutions.
The project is implemented in Chile by the Santiago Chamber of Commerce, in co-execution with the Chamber of Valencia, Spain. It has a duration of 30 months and its focus is on positively impacting SMEs in the Metropolitan Region.
The five main challenges that this initiative aims to address are: 1) Characterise the industry supply and demand for packaging used in e-commerce. 2) To identify and develop sustainable and cost-efficient e-commerce packaging solutions. 3) To promote and foster job creation and entrepreneurship among SMEs and young people, based on sustainable solutions. 4) To accompany and accelerate the development of circular business models related to Packaging, scalable globally and sustainable over time. 5) Establish a roadmap that allows the continuity and evolution of the sector.
Finally, the above-mentioned activities fall into three main project phases: Phase 1Characterisation of the packaging sector in Chile, Phase 2Research, development and innovation of new e-commerce packaging solutions, and Phase 3Business Model Acceleration and Mentoring Service.
