II Dialogue on sustainable cocoa
On 12 June, the online workshop "Traceability requirements for cocoa in the framework of the EUDR" will take place.
Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verdeimplemented by FIIAPP and IILA, in collaboration with the programme SAFE -implemented by the German cooperation agency, GIZ, and with the technical support of the European Forest Institute (EFI)The II Dialogue on sustainable cocoa will be held under the title "Traceability requirements for cocoa under the EUDR"..
This workshop is part of a cycle of three virtual dialogues on the cocoa chain to address different EUDR requirements: free deforestation, traceability and legality.
The second session will have the following objectives:
- Inform about the general EUDR requirements in terms of traceability and implications for data collection.
- Submit initiatives and publicly available data in each participating country and its relevance to the EUDR, along with the presentation of the case of a West African producer country.
- Facilitate the exchange between producer countries, public and private actorsThe EU and its member states should also be informed about their roles and responsibilities, and identify specific and common challenges and challenges between countries.
