Meeting on the Mentoring Programme in Paraguay
Component 3 of the programme, AL-INVEST Verde DPI, in partnership with the National Directorate of Intellectual Property of Paraguay (DINAPI), organises a meeting to discuss the launch of the first edition of the AL-INVmentor mentoring programme in Paraguay.
AL-INVmentor Paraguay is part of the first edition of the mentoring programme, focused on MERCOSUR countries. This initiative will provide specialised mentoring to selected groups of local agri-food producers, helping them to effectively use intellectual property tools, in particular geographical indications (GIs).
The event is aimed at representatives of national authorities, such as ministries and secretariats related to tourism, as well as producers of origin-linked products in Paraguay. Speakers will include the National Director of DINAPI, the Component 3 project manager for intellectual property rights, and a representative of the Paraguayan Vice-Ministry representing small agricultural producers.
The keynote lecture, entitled "The role of Geographical Indications and success stories - Colombian coffee", will be given by Mr. Luis Fernando Samper, AL-INVEST Verde IPR expert and international consultant on Geographical Indications and sustainability.
