Buenos Aires, 14 December 2023. The expert of AL-INVEST Verde, Anahí Monier, gave a talk entitled "The importance of laboratory accreditation in international trade", invited by the Secretariat of Science and Technology of the Faculty of Forestry Sciences of the National University of Misiones (FCF UNaM). Anahi Monier is a chemical engineer specialising in laboratory quality. For AL-INVEST Verde, she leads the technical assistance for the strengthening of Argentinean testing and certification laboratoriesThe project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, through the Secretariat of Industry and Productive Development, and the National Quality Plan, was launched by the Ministry of Economy of Argentina, through the Secretariat of Industry and Productive Development, and the National Quality Plan.

In his presentation, Monier underlined that this recently concluded action aimed to support national laboratories in identifying their needs in relation to the rules for exporting bovine leather, timber, soybeans and derivatives to the European Union. He also explained the development process and detailed, among other things, basic aspects of accreditation and certification, as well as the functioning of the National Quality System in Argentina.

According to the university, laboratories form "a solid system on which international trade is based, facilitating the reduction of operational costs", and are therefore, it believes, of particular importance "for standardisation, metrology and accreditation".
