Intellectual property rights mentoring in Argentina

Buenos Aires. 27 June 2024. The month of June marked the launch in Argentina of the AL-INVEST Verde Component 3 mentoring programme for intellectual property rights, called "AL-INVmentor Argentina"in collaboration with the Bioeconomy Secretariat of the country's Ministry of Economy.

This event officially launched the call for local agri-food producers to register and receive free mentoring on the registration and effective use of Geographical Indications (GIs). Registration is open until 30 June and can be done through the link to the registration form below.

AL-INVmentor Argentina is part of the first edition of the mentoring programme, which focuses on MERCOSUR countries. This launch follows those carried out in Paraguay on 6 May and in Brazilon 10 May.

During the event, senior officials from the Bioeconomy Secretariat and the EU Delegation in Argentina welcomed the attendees. Presentations were also made on the context and benefits of GIs, as well as the mentoring programme.

resource-efficient and more circular. Through Component 3, AL-INVEST Verde DPIled by the European Union Intellectual Property Office (EUIPO), the programme seeks to achieve greater use and effectiveness of intellectual property rights in Latin America, particularly in the MERCOSUR countries and Chile, to boost opportunities for research cooperation and stimulate competitiveness and sustainable innovation.
