Madrid/Milan, 02 March 2023. The AL-INVEST Verde programme, as a part of the Component 2 of AL-INVEST Verde took part in the international leather and accessories exhibition Lineapelle 2023 in Milan (Italy) on 22 February. During the panel "Traceability and circularity in the international leather value chain".Lorenzo Nalin, programme manager of AL-INVEST Verde, presented the programme's current activities in this field in Paraguay.

AL-INVEST Verde is collaborating with the Paraguayan Investment and Export Network (REDIEX), with the support of the Ministry of Industry and Trade, to promote the elaboration of a national strategy whose implementation will favour the traceability of the leather production process in the country. The aim is to achieve the certification of Paraguayan leather in all links of the chain, in order to increase competitiveness in international markets, especially in the European market.

Important actors of the production chain such as the World Wildlife Fund (WWF), the Confederation of National Associations of Tanners of the European Community (COTANCE), the Italian Institute of Quality Certification for the Leather Sector (ICEC) and the SDA Bocconi University also participated in the panel. The presence of various actors contributed to a dialogue that included the public sector, private sector, academia and representatives of civil society.
