The general objective of the project is to increase the capacities of waste-generating companies and value chains in Santa Cruz de Bolivia in the transition processes towards low-carbon, resource-efficient and circular business models, through the incorporation of environmental sustainability strategies in SMEs. To this end, work will be carried out on the implementation of an area of support and specialised consultancy focused on the offer of services for the design of business sustainability strategies, in order to promote the improvement of technical capacities, the generation of innovative solutions linked to the exploitation, reuse and management of waste generated, favouring the development of new green businesses, thus contributing to the associativity and internationalisation of the local ecosystem.

Throughout the project, work will be carried out along 3 axes:

  • Axis 1: Identification and design of an approach strategy from a public-private collaborative approach. A detailed analysis and mapping of agents of the productive industrial ecosystem and value chains in Santa Cruz in terms of waste management and environmental sustainability will be carried out, together with a series of surveys and interviews with SMEs, in order to define a fully customised roadmap.
  • Axis 2: Awareness raising and training through technical assistance tailored to the needs of Fundare and the companies participating in the pilot project. The methodology will be transferred to design and implement Environmental Sustainability Strategies for Businesses to improve the efficient use of resources and the correct and sustainable management of waste in SMEs in Santa Cruz.
