Buenos Aires, 21st November 2023. Representatives of small and medium-sized enterprises, Argentine chambers of bioinputs, producers and technicians from the National Directorate of Bioeconomy (DNB) of the Secretariat of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (SAGyP) of Argentina attended a training session given by specialists from the Council for Research and Analysis of the Agricultural Economy (CREA) of Italy, in the framework of the action that AL-INVEST Verde supports in Argentina to incorporate standards of sustainability for agricultural bio-inputs.
The event was attended by Perla Godoy, coordinator of Innovation and Biotechnology at the DNBThe project is supported by: Viktoria Lovenberg, Head of the Economic and Trade Section of the Delegation of the European Union in Argentina; Andrea Monaco, Senior Programme Manager of AL-INVEST Verde/Component 2; Alessandra Trinchera, Technical Assistance Coordinator at CREA; and Dylan Warren Raffa, CREA researcher.
The training, held under the title "Competencies, requirements and modalities of access to the EU market for bioinputs produced in Argentina".The workshop focused, among other things, on the definition, mode of action and eligibility of raw materials and production processes, as well as on the European regulations that apply to this sector.
The training activity began with a presentation by Dylan Warren Raffa, who explained the requirements that Argentinean bioinputs must meet in order to access the European market. Afterwards, Alessandra Trinchera referred to the European regulations for the fulfilment of these requirements, prior to a practical exercise in which the attendees were able to consolidate the knowledge acquired in the training.
In total, some 30 people representing small and medium-sized enterprises, chambers of commerce, and officials from the DNB, a reference centre for the promotion of bio-inputs. The activity took place at the offices of the Secretary of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries (SAGyP), in Buenos Aires.
On the basis of the exchange, CREA will formulate a roadmap with a list of actions to be implemented by the National Bioeconomy Directorate in order to strengthen the strategy of promotion, regional development and export of natural biofertilisers for agricultural use.
